Hi. I’m Donnett Barnett, Director - External Affairs. I am responsible for community relations, local government affairs, economic, consumer and education relations and local media relations for Bergen and Hudson Counties. I also am responsible for local corporate philanthropy and employee volunteerism.

I began my career with Verizon in 1992, at NYNEX Mobile Communications as a wireless sales consultant.  Over the years, I have held various management positions in Corporate Business Planning, Network Operations and Federal Regulations.  My career in telecommunications has provided me with experience in the wireless, long distance and local telephony spectrums of the industry.

I am actively involved with many local organizations in both Bergen and Hudson counties, working towards creating a better economic future for these gateway areas into the state of New Jersey.

I serve as an active board member of the following organizations: Bergen County Workforce Investment Board, Bergen Community College Foundation, the Hispanic Business Council of CIANJ, The Hispanic Institute, Hudson County Community College Foundation, Foundation For Free Enterprise, the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce, and St. Vincent Academy.

As a Director - External Affairs, I would be happy to talk with you about the services Verizon offers, especially our new FiOS services.  I also can share with you Verizon's many education, urban and economic development initiatives in the state.
