On Tuesday, December 5, 2006, Verizon received the 2006 Economic Vitality Award from the Somerset County Business Partnership at their annual meeting and awards ceremony, held at The Palace at Somerset Park.

Magda Yrizarry, Vice President - Corporate Human Resources, accepted the award for Verizon.

In addition to this award, Verizon received a citation from the U.S. House of Representatives, signed by Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen; a proclamation from New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine; a joint legislative resolution (Senator Kavanaugh and Assemblymen Bateman, Biondi and Chivukula); and a citation from the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
