Verizon is a leader in using technology to reduce energy
costs, improve efficiency and minimize environmental
impacts. Since 2004, the company has reduced emissions of
carbon dioxide by hundreds of thousands of metric tons. Last
year, Verizon developed a plan to further reduce electricity
consumption by shutting down obsolete network equipment,
upgrading the energy efficiency of buildings and selling or
closing unneeded facilities.
The Company is committed to preserving natural resources and
to adhere to responsible environmental business practices.
We are dedicated to preserving resources that produce the
energy that is required to heat, cool, light and power
Verizon's communications network and building facilities.
Verizon will seek out and deploy new alternative energy
producing technologies and energy conserving building and
telecommunications equipment.
